Meet The Pastor

Pastor A.B. & Judy Keating

After receiving his call to the Ministry in 1965, A.B. Keating attended Texas Bible College in Houston, Texas, and received his Bachelor of Theology Degree. He married Judy in November, 1967. He says that was the best Thanksgiving he has ever had.

During his college tenure, he also assisted Pastor E. L. Holley in La Marque, Texas for one year. After graduating, he served as an Instructor at Pentecostal Bible Institute in Tupelo, MS for three years. He then pastored in Taylorsville, MS for one year. In 1973, he moved to Houston, Texas, and became an Instructor of Theology, at Texas Bible College for 20 years. During this time he completed his Masters Degree in Religious Education at St. Thomas University, Houston, Tx.

In 1994, he was elected as Home Missions Director of the Texas District. He remained in that office for 10 years.

He became Pastor of New Life in 2002. He has been quoted as saying, "I feel like God has saved the best for the last."

Pastor and Sister Keating are the proud parents of two sons: Nathan, and wife Adina, who pastor Parkway Life Church in Lumberton, TX; and Brent, and wife Cyndy, who pastor Discovery Church in Asheville, NC. They are also the proud grandparents of 5 grandchildren.

What We Believe

Our Vision:

Connect people to God… Connect people to people… Connect people to service

Who We Are:

We are a United Pentecostal Church who is a Spirit-filled and Word driven community focused on experiencing and living out the Gospel of Jesus.

Our Core beliefs…

About God:

We believe in the one eternal God who is unlimited in power, holy in His nature, His attributes and His purpose, and who possesses absolute, indivisible deity. We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified on Calvary for the sins of humanity, and physically arose from the grave. We believe that through His death and life we have personal salvation and power for victorious living.

About The Bible:

We believe God originated and inspired the Bible, and that the Bible is God's message to humanity. We accept the Bible as the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct

About Salvation:

We believe that every person has sinned and stands in need of redemption, which is obtained through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those repenting of sin and being born again of water and Spirit become children of God (John 3:5, Acts 2:38). We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin.

About The Church:

The church has never been perfect. However, we believe the church has been "called out" of the world to be a group of people who follow Jesus Christ. These Christ followers, through the power of the Holy Spirit, will effect genuine spiritual change in their community and those around them. As the body of Christ on earth, the church offers hope to humanity. The church is one group of people made up of many members, diverse in their gifts and calling of the Holy Spirit. The scriptures describe it as a body or a family. New Life takes seriously our role to serve our community and exists as a place that offers people hope and purpose, even as we challenge people to discover and live a Christ-centered life.

About the Second Coming:

We believe Jesus Christ will return to receive the church unto Himself. At His coming, we believe the dead in Christ will be resurrected from the grave. We believe in Christ's millennial reign upon the earth.
